Much has been revealed about WWE’s choice to reintroduce the Winged Eagle Championship at the Main Event, Saturday Night.
Cody Rhodes was seen sporting the title during his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match at the event where he successfully defended his title against Kevin Owens.
Andrew Zarian has shared that the potential for selling replica titles as merchandise was a significant factor in WWE’s decision to bring back the title.
Zarian also points out that the reintroduction of classic titles will become a “regular thing.” The WWE intends to organise four Main Event Saturday Night shows every year.
Post-show, Kevin Owens ambushed Rhodes and absconded with the Winged Eagle title before running into Triple H.
A narrative update on Rhodes’ condition has been released by the WWE, stating that he’s suffering from an axial compression of the cervical spine as a result of the attack.
