Kevin Owens has expressed his sentiments regarding the signing of The Motor City Machine Guns with WWE, describing the experience as “surreal.”
In an interview with Yahoo! Sports in advance of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Owens shared his thoughts on the entry of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley into WWE. He stated,
“I’m not surprised at any of the guys’ success. Even though I will say the Machine Guns joining WWE recently was really surreal, because it’s almost like we all made it. Several of us from back then managed to reach the mainstream wrestling platform and achieve fame, but the Machine Guns, despite their tenure with TNA, never made it to WWE. You kind of assume after some time that it’s not going to happen. Not because they lacked talent – they’ve been among the leading talents in the wrestling world. It’s just that sometimes, due to circumstances or timing, things don’t work out. Their eventual arrival here, though, was quite astonishing.”
Building on his thoughts, Owens added, “However, when I come across them at SmackDown, it feels like, ‘Oh yeah, these guys were always supposed to be here.’ It seems as if they have always been here because they probably should have been from the start.”
