The December 20, 2024 SmackDown episode doesn’t contain any spoilers for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Rather, it continues with some standard follow-ups from this week’s WWE SmackDown.
In a behind-the-scenes segment, Nick Aldis informed Bianca Belair that they may have to forfeit the tag team titles, since Jade Cargill’s injury hasn’t made any improvement. To fill in for Cargill, Naomi stepped up, and Aldis eventually accepted. Later, Candice LeRae informed Nia Jax of having a talk with Aldis and setting up a tag title match for the coming week, partly as an effort to depreciate Tiffany Stratton and push her further from Jax’s favor.
The match between LA Knight and Solo Sikoa ended abruptly due to the interference of Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu. Despite Apollo Crews and Andrade’s attempt to support Knight, The Bloodline left all three overwhelmed, setting the stage for a six-man tag team match.
Returns of Braun Strowman! After dominating Carmelo Hayes, he was approached by Grayson Waller and Austin Theory who extended an invitation to him for The Grayson Waller Effect.
As a consequence of Johnny Gargano’s shift to the ‘heels’ and #DIY’s triumph over Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Championship, a challenge for a match was issued by Alex Shelley to Gargano.

- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Bianca Belair and Naomi (current champions) vs. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae
- A special appearance by Braun Strowman on the Grayson Waller Effect

- An all-out Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga) facing LA Knight, Andrade, and Apollo Crews
