It appears that Trish Stratus has been toying with the idea of going head to head with Mercedes Mone for quite some time, and there was recent chatter about her possibly moving to AEW to make that match possible.
While on “The Takedown” podcast recently, Trish shared some thoughts about their fleeting interaction during the Royal Rumble, stating that they haven’t yet had a proper match against each other.
Trish vented, “You know, common thinking was that I would never return for another match. After the Royal Rumble, that seemed enough. It was like a highlight reel of sorts, featuring Stratusfaction which isn’t an easy feat to achieve. People were like, ‘Okay, she’s still got it,’ but the question of can she come back, 17 years or so after retirement, is perplexing. It’s quite a thought, and then Mone took her leave.”
When the topic of her moving to AEW to have that match came up, Stratus had a clear answer:
“No, I am absolutely a WWE girl through and through.”
