Recently, AEW President Tony Khan made an appearance on the “Sports Guys Talking Wrestling” podcast, offering his thoughts on the current landscape of the AEW World Title and Jon Moxley’s reign as World Champion.
Here’s a snapshot of what Khan had to say:
Discussing the current state of the AEW World Title, Khan expressed his excitement. “I’m truly thrilled about seeing the top talent in AEW vying for the championship. They may not all be on the same page, but they share a common goal: unseating Jon Moxley as champion. The sight of the fans fervently chanting ‘AEW’ while Hangman Page, Jay White, and Orange Cassidy took on the reigning champion was nothing short of phenomenal.”
Turning to conversation towards Jon Moxley’s reign as World Champion, he exclaimed. “We’re looking at three of the biggest superstars in AEW, currently in pursuit of arguably our biggest name ever, the unparalleled champion, Jon Moxley. With four AEW World championships to his name, along with being a six-time world champ, Moxley’s the only man to have held the AEW, WWE, and IWGP World Championships. He’s not just a fantastic wrestler and a formidable champion, he’s the prime target for some of the biggest names in AEW. The happenings on Wednesday nights on Dynamite on TBS, and every weekend on TNT on AEW are thrilling, owing to these superstars hot on the heels of the ‘Death Riders’.”
