Report – Push For Natalya To Be First WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion

Recent reports suggest a growing sentiment within the WWE for Natalya to become the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

The establishment of the new title was publicized just weeks ago. Currently, a tournament featuring 12 women is well under way to name the first-ever champion.

Based on WrestleVotes’ recent Backstage Pass Q&A, there are individuals throughout WWE who are keen on seeing Natalya win the title.

While the report from WrestleVotes doesn’t guarantee Natalya’s victory, it does note there is “some favoritism” within the organization.

As of now, Natalya has not yet participated in her inaugural round match, where she will be competing against Alba Fyre and Damage CTRL’s Kairi Sane from Canada.

Thus far in the tournament, Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria have progressed to the next round. An upcoming first-round match will feature Zoey Stark, Raquel Rodriguez, and Kayden Carter.

Natalya made her television debut in 2008, making her the longest-serving female talent in the WWE. It’s been seven years since she last held a singles title.
