During a recent episode of his “Keepin’ It 100” podcast, Konnan, a former wrestler with WCW and WWE, criticised the way Kamille has been showcased in AEW, terming it “terrible“. He commented,

“They made her appear early, diluting her impact. Practically everyone from Shida to Statlander to Britt Baker had access to her. This doesn’t really portray her as a bodyguard. Similar to my remarks about Lashley and Swerve, initiating a program with her and Mone seemed premature.”

In an episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Mark Henry in his characteristically forthright manner voiced his opinions on AEW’s creative decisions of late. Here are some noteworthy quotes:

When discussing creative dissent: “[The Creative team] ought to be debating. It should cause a shake-up to determine the future course of action,” Henry expressed. “Everyone over at AEW seems to be in harmony. That’s not how it should be. There has to be disagreement. Bully [Ray] and I have differed for years, but at the end of the day, we wanted the best outcome for the match and the show.”

Highlighting the need for leadership: “Belichick is Belichick for a reason,” Henry elucidates, extending the analogy to John Wooden, Pat Patterson, and Dusty Rhodes. “Their greatness deserves to be respected and allowed to guide others.”

Lee Moriarty, after his face-off with Bryan Danielson in the AEW Dynamite event on February 16, 2022, provided insights into his experience in The Ringer’s “Masked Man Show”. He mentioned,

“This encounter has taught me how to integrate aggression with a technical style. He’s a skilled technical wrestler, but also extremely aggressive, as seen during his matches with RUSH and Moxley. It aided me to get meaner as opposed to sticking to attractive wrestling. It also helped me realize that I need to be more flexible with my strategy since things might change. Danielson did things I didn’t expect. There’s not much of a pattern in his three AEW matches this year. He modifies his style according to his opponents, be it MJF, Hechicero, or Moxley. He does have consistent moves, but the way he executes them varies.”
