In a fresh episode of the podcast “Six Feet Under,” hosted by The Undertaker, Hornswoggle shared an amusing saga about a chicken being thrown under the wrestling ring while he was there at a WWE event.
Here are some key takeaways from their conversation:
About his usual spot under the ring: “That spot under the ring was my domicile, literally. Particularly in massive international arenas, sneaking out was a daunting task as the entire area was flooded with spectators and lights. However, we had figured out a strategy. At some local shows, we used to cut out all the lights and roll a video while the ring crew surrounded me and I snuck out unnoticed.”
Regarding a particular chicken episode: “There was this security guy who was on the receiving end of my pranks throughout the entire tour. Eventually, he’d had enough and decided to give me a taste of my own medicine. It’s still a mystery why there were chickens roaming around outside the arena. However, one ended up under the ring while I was beneath it with Drew McIntyre and Chris Masters wrestling above me. I was in the middle of changing my match outfit, half-naked, when all of sudden this live chicken was thrown under the ring.”
“I am not a fan of birds at all and to have a living bird, a chicken, no less, going berserk under the ring was not something I was prepared for. I quickly grabbed a kendo stick that was lying around to defend myself. The sight of me, scared and battling with the chicken under the ring, turned into quite a spectacle, with everyone clicking photos and recording videos. The chicken was occasionally kicked out but was pushed back under by someone, causing it to get even more agitated. Drew McIntyre ended up announcing in the middle of his match, ‘I think there’s a chicken under the ring.’ That must have been the longest minute of my life, running from the chicken, absolutely terrified. I cannot tell you how much I despise birds.”
