Bianca Belair, the popular wrestler, credits her husband Montez Ford for the unique iconic braid that has become a significant part of her wrestling identity. She shared this during an interview on the “No-Contest Wrestling” podcast. The braid, initially influenced by Beyoncé’s concert style, was made more professional-wrestling appropriate after some guidance from her coach and encouragement from her husband. Ford advised her that it was crucial to stand out, which led to the braid becoming her unique identifier.
Belair shared, “As far as the braid, the person behind the braid is actually [Montez Ford]. Yeah, so kudos to him. I’m a huge Beyonce fan, she wore a braid at the concert and I was like, I’m just gonna wear one just for a style…Because of him, I wore it and now it’s my thing.”
In another podcast, the “Ropes N Riffs”, Donovan Dijak discussed his collaboration with AEW’s Mikey Rukus to create his entrance theme, “Capital Punishment”. He expressed great admiration for Rukus’ work and was eager to work with him once he parted ways with WWE. Dijak is incredibly satisfied with the song and looks forward to how it can be enhanced with the right production elements in future performances.
On working with Rukus, Dijak noted, “Super talented guy…as soon as I got any sort of inkling that I wasn’t going, that I might not be with WWE anymore, I immediately hit him up…”
Feelings about the song, he added “I’ve never been happier with a song before than with ‘Capital Punishment.’ I think it’s fantastic.”
