WWE Hall of Fame member, Eric Bischoff, recently made some pointed comments about the AEW team, particularly one member who he thinks has a more suitable role as a janitor at Taco Bell.
During a recent episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff discussed the AEW Dynamite episode featuring Kyle O’Reilly. He expressed his opinion saying,
“[O’Reilly] looks like a guy who’s basically mopping the floors after hours at Taco Bell. And couldn’t cut a promo to save his life. And you’re giving them center stage, right in the middle of the ring…The only person in that arena who looked less like a wrestler…was Adam Cole.”
Later, Bischoff further expanded on his criticisms. He suggested that considering how Cole and O’Reilly present themselves, fans may find it difficult to take them seriously as wrestlers. Bischoff stated,
“Presentation is everything. One of the reasons I got excited about the opening match [an eight-man tag-team match] was because at least everybody came wearing wardrobe. They looked like they should be on a primetime professional wrestling show. They didn’t come to the ring wearing their f***ing wifebeaters and holes in their shoes.”
Bischoff’s criticism of AEW is nothing new. He has made previous negative remarks about the wrestling league and even claimed that TNA’s Dixie Carter was a more skilled booker than Tony Khan. Click here to find out more about his criticisms.
