Adam Copeland, best known for his WWE persona, Edge, is successfully advancing through his recovery following his severe injury during the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event earlier this year.
Reports from Pwinsider Elite indicate that Copeland is now sanctioned for physical activity, indicating that his recovery is nearing completion. Nevertheless, AEW enthusiasts may still need to exercise patience regarding his ring comeback. This is attributed to Copeland’s ongoing involvement in the filming of the second season of Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, scheduled to complete in January 2024.
The unfortunate incident that resulted in Copeland’s injury happened at Double or Nothing, when he undertook a daring stunt – jumping off a barbed wire steel cage which culminated in a tibia fracture. The fallouts from this injury were surgery and the subsequent forfeiture of the TNT Championship to Jack Perry at Forbidden Door.
In a conversation with Sports Illustrated in September, Copeland did not have a specific timeline for his recovery. Then, despite his ability to move around and walk, he admitted experiencing some inadequacies. However, with recent updates pointing to Copeland’s clearance for physical exercise, this could be a beacon of positive news. Tony Khan, the CEO of AEW, also shares this optimism, expressing hopes for Copeland’s soon return to AEW. However, Copeland’s AEW return may not transpire until after the beginning of the new year, given his filming commitments.
