Renowned WWE personality, Teddy Long, has observed numerous tag teams’ evolution in WWE, and expresses his hope that the audience hasn’t seen the last of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.
In the most recent episode of WWE SmackDown, an unfortunate incident occurred in the parking lot where Cargill was assaulted, leading Belair to forfeit her Women’s U.S. Title tournament match.
Rumors started circulating suggesting that Belair had orchestrated the attack on Cargill before the match or possibly had her tag team partner attacked while the EST was actively engaged in the ring.
In a previous episode of the “Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Long expressed his reluctance to the potential break-up of the duo. He was quoted saying,
“I need to say this. God, they look perfect when teamed together, Bianca and Jade. Why would anyone think of splitting them at this juncture? There’s a potential for a great run with them together. As I said, that part seems nonsensical to me and we really don’t grasp it until it comes to pass. I perceive this as a tease but I would absolutely refrain from breaking them up too quickly. They complement each other so well, let them enjoy a fruitful journey together.”
In their second tenure as Women’s Tag Team Champions, Belair and Cargill have regained the titles from the Unholy Union at the Bash In Berlin event.
What this injury will lead to in relation to their title reign is still a mystery that WWE has refrained from explaining. Historically speaking, such situations have led to the titles being given up, with the remaining champion opting for a new partner.
