Cathy Kelley, famous for her membership in Mensa, an organization recognized for having high-IQ individuals, engages in an insightful conversation on the latest episode of the “B4TheBell” podcast. This society, comprised of incredibly smart individuals, consists of approximately 150,000 members scattered across over 90 countries.
During her recent participation in the “B4TheBell” podcast, Kelley shed light on her Mensa test experience and her initial silence about it.
Below, we have highlighted some of the intriguing aspects of the podcast for you to check out:
Discussing her Mensa test journey, Kelley stated, “Mensa Journalist is a phrase that puzzles me. I believe it’s a fabricated term. All I did was take the test for Mensa and got my acceptance. My focus was mainly on podcasting and discussing wrestling as a novice enthusiast. At times, the depth of context regarding my show views is missing. Besides, being brutally criticized and insulted did nothing to fueled my determination to prove them otherwise. I practiced with several online tests before the actual one, hoping to secure my chances of getting accepted. If memories serve right, the test center was probably in the vicinity of Orange County. The exam would take place every other month. The exact details are blurry now, as recalling anything older than three days is a challenge for me. I sat for the test, nervously expecting to clear it to avoid all my efforts going in vain. No one knew about it, not even the ABC Family actor who was also present there alongside three or four other exam takers and the examiner. A few weeks later, a letter arrived confirming my chances.”
On her silence about this achievement initially, Kelley said, “I refrained from discussing it as I didn’t want to come off as arrogant. My primary motive was to prove to myself that I could do it. Stephanie McMahon, however, encouraged me to openly talk about this feat, pointing out it was something to be actually proud of, rather than keeping it under wraps.”
