CM Punk is set to showcase his acting skills in a brand-new SyFy series called ‘Revival.’ According to a news piece by Variety, the WWE superstar is set to portray a yet-to-be-disclosed character in the upcoming show.
‘Revival’, based on the comic series from Image Comics, will feature an ensemble cast including Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Steven Ogg, a familiar face from ‘The Walking Dead.’
The storyline of ‘Revival’ unfolds in rural Wisconsin amid an unusual event where the dead start to rise from their graves. However, these resurrected individuals are nothing like the traditional flesh-eating zombies.
Centered around a mysterious murder investigation, the narrative follows Dana Cypress, a local officer and single mother played by Scrofano. In the unraveling mystery, no one, whether dead or alive, is exempted from suspicion.
CM Punk is no newbie when it comes to acting. He already has roles like Ricky Rabies in Starz’s pro-wrestling drama ‘Heels’ and a part in the horror film ‘The Girl on The Third Floor.’ under his belt.
At present, CM Punk is enjoying a hiatus from his WWE responsibilities. His last appearance in the wrestling ring was at Bad Blood where he emerged victorious against Drew McIntyre in Hell in a Cell.
