On his “Kliq This” podcast, WWE Hall of Fame inductee Kevin Nash voiced his views on the pairing of Bronson Reed, aka The King Of Monsters, with manager Robert Stone. Nash acknowledged Reed’s popularity in the role of the fearsome antagonist, but also suggested a potential partnership with Stone, believing it could contribute positively to Reed’s persona.
Nash provided insight into how a monster heel’s character can be undermined by their articulation outside the ring. Citing instances such as Reed giving interviews on Raw and Braun Strowman posting on Instagram, Nash suggested that exhibiting them in ordinary situations detracts from their monstrous image.
Separately, during a visit to the “Insight” podcast, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis discussed his position in WWE and his thoughts on his wrestling career. Aldis talked about the approach he has taken to the GM role, emphasizing the importance of making it his own and not replicating past authority figures. He also mentioned the balance between long-term strategizing and improvisation, stating that they should be parts of the GM framework.
Despite taking a managerial role, Aldis diplomatically balanced questions about his retirement from wrestling. He made it clear that he hasn’t firmly decided on retiring, always being open to the possibility of wrestling again if the circumstance demands it. Furthermore, Aldis professed his willingness to wrestle at least once more, acknowledging that he feels he’s earned this opportunity.
Aldis further detailed his admiration for his professional relation with Adam Pearce. He appreciates the dynamic between them and believes that it adds a fun element to the WWE narrative.
In a surprising revelation, Aldis described an unplanned RKO he received from Randy Orton, confessing that it was not part of the initial script and was called at the last minute. Although he’s unsure about who made the decision, Aldis conceded that this unexpected incident enjoyed heightened fan interest and created a notable moment.
