Wrestling professional Adam Cole recently conducted an interview with PennLive.com, openly discussing his health struggles over the past two years. Some key points from the interview are highlighted below.

In regards to his health issues over the previous few years, Cole shared, “It was a roller-coaster two years for sure. Back-to-back concussions left me out of the ring for nine months. The uncertainty of clearance to return was extremely stressful.”

When asked about his ankle injury following the concussions, he detailed the experience, “Four hours post-injury, I was informed that my ankle was in worse condition than they initially assumed. That meant another surgery in just seven days. That news was soul crushing… The concussion was intimidating, but the ankle ordeal was more challenging. It was truly tough.”

Despite facing significant hurdles, Cole maintained a steadfast determination to return to the ring, “I couldn’t entertain the thought of an end to my career. Despite the concussion and the ankle injury, I never found myself considering a halt to what I love doing. There was a burning determination within me to get back to what I love doing.”

On his return to the ring in October, he shared, “It was a blend of elation and excitement to return to the ring after my longest gap. There was a combination of gratitude and anxiety. The fear of whether I could live up to the demanding nature of the job was overwhelming, but I am grateful that I was able to overcome it.”

Attributing a special sentiment to wrestling matches in Pennsylvania, his home state, Cole said, “It feels amazing! Having attended numerous matches in Pennsylvania as a spectator and having kick-started my career there, it is always truly special to get to wrestle in my home state.”

In a related note, at a recent virtual signing for Highspots Superstore, Diamond Dallas Page highlighted that Cody Rhodes helmed the debut All In pay-per-view event in 2018. DDP said, “It was great to witness Cody running the show, very much like his father did. No one foresaw the creation of All Elite Wrestling at that time. It was his moment, and he wanted everyone to have fun.”
