Before being let go from WWE without notice, Odyssey Jones had been teamed up with The New Day (featuring Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) on WWE broadcasts.
The reason for Jones’ release is speculated to be due to some allegations of domestic violence that became public.
Kofi Kingston had a conversation with the New York Post about Jones’ exit from the live broadcasts. According to him,
“One of the crucial lessons I’ve picked up is that you can never predict what a new day brings with WWE. You must always be ready to adapt without much warning. There have been instances where we had been prepped for a “Monday Night Raw” events weeks in advance, only to arrive at the venue and have plans changed at the last minute. It’s all about how swiftly you can deal with these changes that counts. Situations rarely proceed as projected. Thus, when Odyssey was taken out of the picture, we had to brainstorm and determine how to adapt and keep the narrative moving forward. After all, as the saying goes, the show must go on. You just have to devise the most effective methods to adapt.”
