The presence of Danhausen on AEW broadcasting has been noticeably missing for a significant stretch of time, a recent revelation provides clarity on his current status within the organization.
Last known to fight under the AEW banner at the Worlds End in late December of 2023, Fightful Select is reporting that he is currently not a part of any ongoing storylines within AEW, with no recent discussions surrounding his comeback.
Credible insiders have revealed that AEW and Danhausen have been out of regular touch for more than half a year, the only exception being when they seek approvals for freelancing dates, which is a routine practice for those bound by AEW contracts.
Last year, there were plotted solutions for Danhausen’s comeback from his injury. However, changes arose that shifted these plans, leading him to voice his grievances directly to the head of AEW, Tony Khan.
In the earlier part of this year, suggestions were made to bring Danhausen back into the circuit, with strong backing from Bryan Danielson. Regardless, these suggestions did not materialize into anything tangible, despite Danhausen hinting at his readiness to return.
Speculations within AEW suggest that Danhausen has chosen to focus more on his independent contracts instead of participating in Collision on Saturdays. Concurrently, Danhausen cited familial reasons affecting his availability, which did fluctuate as the year progressed.
Danhausen’s contract with AEW is set to culminate during the mid of 2025, with no existing creative endeavours currently under development.
