One certainty in the dynamic world of WWE is the title held by its Universal Champion Cody Rhodes. Looking forward, Rhodes expresses his optimism for the possibility that ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin could partake in WWE WrestleMania 41 slated for April of the upcoming year.
Rhodes shared this aspiration during a conversation with Adrian Hernandez at ComplexCon, extending a formal invite and articulating his desire for Austin to give the event his validation. He said,
“Of course, we’d love to have him. He’s conveniently close—we could fly him out in a helicopter, a la Great American Bash. Stone Cold Steve Austin, wrestlings ultimate protagonist, represented an incredible era where the industry was filled with heroes. He had the company’s fortunes on his shoulders.
“I’d appreciate his presence to see what we’re achieving. I want him to understand that we’re working hard, ‘Okay, here’s what we’re up to on Friday, Saturday’s plans look like this,’ and I hope he holds pride in us all because influences like him and The Rock have paved a successful path for us. I’d welcome any contribution from Steve. As for Cody, we’ll see each other in April, but for now, rest up, QB1.’ And sleep is not on my agenda, really.”
“My interest in continuing this interview is due to an unknown, yet exciting, route he might lead me on.”
During WrestleMania 40, Austin didn’t make an appearance. The pay-per-view event saw Rhodes and Roman Reigns being assisted by various stars during the headlining event of the second night.
Austin, previously known as the Texas Rattlesnake, marked his return in WWE WrestleMania 38 in 2022 with a win over Kevin Owens in the Night One’s main event.
With hints at a possible comeback and overwhelmingly positive backstage reactions to his previous match with Owens, wrestling fans might have an exciting surprise awaiting them with Austin’s involvement in WWE.
