Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, an ex-NFL player and one-time TNA World Tag Team Champion, was taken into custody subsequent to Mike Tyson’s boxing match with Jake Paul. Notably, this is not the first time Jones has had a run-in with the law.
The incident took place in the vicinity of AT&T Stadium at the Loews Arlington Hotel bar around 1:00 AM EST, as reported by local enforcement agencies. A fight had already broken up by the time an off-duty officer working security arrived at the scene. He warned Jones that further fighting would lead to his arrest.
However, shortly after this warning, another violent incident involving Jones erupted in the same bar area. Jones allegedly struck the female officer on her arm, leading to his arrest.
The situation continued to escalate when Jones resisted arrest. While the officer attempted to handcuff Jones, he managed to break free. He was eventually detained when additional law enforcement personnel reached the scene.
Jones faces charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer, public intoxication, and resisting and evading arrest. However, a representative reported to TMZ that Jones refutes these allegations.
Jones is perhaps most recognized for his NFL career, although he also made a brief appearance in TNA in 2007, a consequence of being sidelined from the NFL due to legal issues. In his TNA stint, Jones, along with Ron ‘R-Truth’ Killings, clinched the TNA World Tag Titles. However, his NFL contract prohibited him from engaging in physical contact during matches.
This recent arrest adds to Jones’ troubled history. As late as September 2023, Jones was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and making terroristic threats.
