In his most recent YouTube video, retired WWE superstar Maven took a trip down memory lane as he spoke about fellow wrestlers who had reprimanded him throughout his career.

Maven also detailed a particular incident where Shawn Michaels became frustrated with him for botching a move during their bout at a WWE live event in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Here are few of the notable details from the video:

About wrestling Shawn Michaels at a WWE live event: Maven recalled, “During this night, Shawn Michaels and I were paired for a match, and I couldn’t afford to mess up. I was a novice; making a mistake was not only about my image but Shawn’s too. I was unaware, at this point, that he harbored a dislike toward me. I had held on to the hope that there was a lingering sense of shared respect. This notion was unequivocally shattered that night we entered the ring in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The specific memory of that location stands out because it played a part in why Shawn was angry with me.”

About his effort to reproduce The Rock and Shawn Michaels’ kip up: “As the fight rolled on, I found myself on my back, trying to emulate a move—the nip up—famously used by The Rock and Michaels,” Maven said. “I had no issue performing the move at the time. I had the needed agility to execute it, especially at sea level.”

About being ridiculed by Shawn Michaels backstage over the error: Recalling the aftermath, Maven shared, “As the match concluded and the audience had a good laugh at my inability to stick a straightforward move, we returned backstage where a much-anticipated Jenkins lecture awaited me. He was straightforward and to the point – if you’re unsure about nailing a move 100%, abstain from doing it in the first place.”
