Professional wrestler, Rob Van Dam, recently made an appearance on the podcast “Wrestling Life”. He discussed his 2021 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and shared his wish that the event could have occurred outside of the WWE Thunderdome.

The Thunderdome is a specific venue used by the WWE during the COVID-19 pandemic. It featured video displays to show fans watching from their homes.

Van Dam expressed, “It was very validating to be thought of on that Mount Rushmore of wrestlers. That’s something that they can never take away from me now. It felt like I elevated up to a level, and now people refer to me as a Hall of Famer. It’s very prestigious…” He further discussed his disappointment in the nature of the ceremony due to the pandemic and compared it to his high school trip getting downgraded.

In another podcast, “The Takedown”, Baron Corbin, talked about his portrayal of the unfortunate “Bum A*s Corbin” character in WWE. He shared that he found enjoyment in that phase.

Corbin stated, “I think that the sad Corbin, it was just supposed to be like a two-week thing. I think that was originally the plan. Then I grabbed onto it. This is going to be fun. Let’s turn it up to twelve. That’s something I’ve always learned from seeing it…” He mentioned that he fully committed to the character, to the point of fans trying to give him money, showing the effectiveness of his portrayal.
