AEW star Ricky Starks was recently a guest on the “Cliabs Online” podcast where he revealed that he’s never been starstruck throughout his wrestling career. The complete podcast is available for listening below:
When asked if he’s ever been starstruck, Starks noted, “I’ve never been starstruck. If I’d be starstruck by anyone, it would probably be Prince. But in terms of professional wrestling, I’m pretty comfortable. I’ve never let myself reach that point.”
Starks also spoke about not placing others on a pedestal: “Whenever I’ve been backstage with someone who’s achieved more than me, I’ve never viewed them as being superior, or gotten starstruck. Instead, I see them as ‘A person I can learn from’ and delve into their experiences and life journey. That’s more of an opportunity than most people get, being in such locker rooms.”

Wrestlers MVP and Shelton Benjamin debuted at AEW’s WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view event last month. Subsequently, a few weeks later, Bobby Lashley made his entrance on AEW Dynamite Fright Night by attacking Swerve Strickland.
MVP talked about the revival of The Hurt Syndicate (once known as The Hurt Business in WWE) in AEW, on a separate podcast called “Drop The Heat”. He explained, “The next chapter for us is AEW. We’ve regrouped as the Hurt Syndicate. Our aim is to conclude that chapter the only way it should end, which means we have some major plans in AEW. Furthermore, I have a few more matches in me before I officially retire. I’m also enjoying this phase as a manager, serving as a spokesperson, and the commissioner role. If they can pay me to come on and talk, I’ll do it for as long as they need me. Apart from this, my wrestling life is nearing its conclusion. Currently, I just want to enjoy earning money with my friends.”
