In a recent episode of the “Power & Glory” podcast, Peter Avalon provided his insights on the contrasts between AEW and WWE. He stated,
“I appreciate its distinctiveness. Wrestling should be distinguished. WWE should maintain its unique vibe. AEW embraces grittiness. WOW – Women of Wrestling recalls the classic 80’s. Each place should maintain its individuality instead becoming carbon copies of each other. This variety will promote growth in wrestling. Maybe the WWE’s cartoonish style may not resonate with some viewers and they may find what they’re looking for in the gritty realism of AEW. Personally, I prefer this version of Batman to the other one.”
In another podcasting update, on a fresh episode of his “Kliq This” series, Kevin Nash, a WWE Hall of Famer, voiced his opinion that WCW in 1992 posed a bigger threat to WWE than AEW does currently. He revealed,
“I had a conversation with a senior WWE official, [Sean Oliver enquired if he was implying top-management], and made no mention of his name. But I expressed my view, ‘Personally, I believe WCW in ‘92 was arguably a bigger concern for the WWE than AEW currently is, and he agreed wholeheartedly, ‘Absolutely no question.’”
