In a recent episode of the “AEW Unrestricted” podcast, AEW’s ring announcer Bobby Cruise shared his thoughts on AEW and Tony Khan’s exceptional tribute to the memory of fellow wrestler, Jay Briscoe (Jamin Pugh).
Highlighted excerpts from the podcast are presented below.
Speaking on Tony Khan’s respect for ROH, Cruise commented, “There is an undeniable respect that he possesses for Ring of Honor. His appreciation for the history and the people connected to it is evident. The way Jamin’s loss – a tragic event in itself – was honored by continuing to remember him through the ladder match at Supercard [of Honor], the Jay Briscoe ‘Reach for the Sky’ match, and his image on the side plates of the title belts is truly commendable.”
On the subject of Khan’s passion for wrestling, he added: “There are little details that he takes care of, which goes to show his exceptional dedication to not only AEW but also to Ring of Honor. The creativity he brings to the table is truly praiseworthy.”
In another recent episode of the podcast “Ring the Belle,” AEW’s own Kris Statlander shared her remorse over her brawl with Orange Cassidy during the AEW Dynamite episode broadcast on June 5th.
“I must confess, I have had some feelings of regret,” Statlander stated. “I don’t believe Orange deserved it. After all, he had been my best friend for a very long time. Things were getting to me; the breakup of Best Friends, Willow overshadowing me – I was letting it all affect me and I took things out on the wrong people. I’m uncertain about a potential reconciliation, but if the opportunity arises, I’ll be deeply grateful. I hold immense respect and admiration for Orange.”
