Grayson Waller, a WWE Superstar, doesn’t object to potentially switching to a babyface persona, but he shows little interest in the typical fan interaction expected of this role.

Waller joined the WWE in 2021. Upon his arrival, he was portrayed as a heel character and was partnered with the equally unpopular Austin Theory in the big leagues.

However, recent developments seem to indicate a rift growing between the erstwhile WWE Tag Team Champions, which could lead to one of them assuming a babyface persona.

In a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, Waller shed light on his reluctance to embody the “good guy” persona in WWE, expressing:

“Switching to a babyface archetype isn’t impossible, but it isn’t something I crave. The idea of playing the babyface doesn’t sit well with me because I feel it wouldn’t be sincere. It seems false to me, all these babyface personas having to pretend they love their fans when I can’t even tolerate them. In my opinion, wrestling fans are the worst. Not referring to the fans who come to enjoy the show with their family – they’re okay.

“But these keyboard warriors online, the ones who act like they are wrestling connoisseurs, are unbearable. The way they quickly switch allegiances is exasperating. But their actions don’t bother me, as their opinions hold no sway over me, I don’t let their words affect me. I am free to do as I wish. Do they despise me? That’s fine, it doesn’t get to me.

“I feel sympathy for the “good guys” who must feign camaraderie with these people, signing autographs at ungodly hours in the airport. That’s something I’m relieved to avoid. Mainly, I don’t want to play a babyface character because I don’t want to mask my disdain for these people. I genuinely can’t bear them.”

Waller recently took part in a match on the latest SmackDown episode, where he and his partner Theory were defeated by the Motor City Machine Guns, the WWE Tag Team Champions.
