In a recent episode of his “Kliq This” podcast, Kevin Nash, who is a member of the illustrious WWE Hall of Fame, delved into a discussion about Scott Norton, a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and WCW talent.
Nash touched on Norton’s illustrious career in NJPW, expressing that his success in Japan didn’t translate as effectively to his career in the United States, where he was part of the notorious faction, nWo.
Below, you can take a look at some of the standout moments from Nash’s podcast:
Kevin Nash on why Scott Norton’s success didn’t carry over to the US: “In that era, he was a leading figure in Japan. I’m not sure why that success didn’t convert [into the US scene.] I mean, he was quite the sensation.”
Nash’s take on Norton’s tenure in Japan: “During my inaugural tour, it was him and Vader and Tony Halme, among others. Norton, I will just say, had some classic New Japan matches that you guys ought to revisit. He and Bam Bam [Bigelow] formed a riveting tag team against the Steiners, creating a series of unforgettable matches. Norton’s ‘strong style’ complemented Bam Bam’s agility perfectly, and of course, the Steiners were simply invincible.”
