Reason Why D-Von Dudley Didn’t Get Physical On WWE NXT Revealed

Renowned wrestling duo, D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray, popularly known as The Dudley Boyz, marked their return to WWE this week, appearing on NXT.

With their established reputation as one of the top tag teams in the history of wrestling, The Dudley Boyz boast titles across all the promotions they have competed in, including WWE, TNA Wrestling, NJPW, ECW, among others.

D-Von stepped back from active wrestling competition and started his role as a WWE producer in 2016. Eventually, he transitioned into becoming a trainer at NXT, from where he stepped down in 2023.

D-Von then made a comeback from retirement, teaming with Ray for a tag match where they conquered Champagne Singh and Rohit Raju at TNA Impact 1000. His last appearance before this was at the IWC Superstar Showdown V event, which took place on April 27.

In a triumphant match, Bubba, alongside NXT Champion Trick Williams, rejoiced over their victory against Ridge Holland and Ethan Page in the recent WWE NXT episode at the 2300 Arena.

After the match, Bubba and Trick displayed some exemplary Dudley Boyz tactics before D-Von surfaced to retrieve a table, enabling the babyfaces to carry out the 3D on Page.

As per Fightful’s report, D-Von maintained a non-combative role during his NXT cameo, given he has not been medically authorised for any in-ring efforts.

Currently, both D-Von and Ray are on board with WWE under the WWE Legends contracts.
