In anticipation of WrestleMania 41 in March 2025, WWE plans to launch an expansive eleven-city tour across various international destinations. As part of this tour, WWE Superstars are gearing up to sweep through Barcelona in Spain, Dortmund and Hannover in Germany, Brussels in Belgium, Bologna in Italy, along with Belfast in Northern Ireland, Nottingham and London in England, Glasgow in Scotland, Vienna in Austria, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
A noteworthy initiative in this international adventure is WWE’s decision to broadcast back-to-back episodes of Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown from different European locations over a period of three weeks. This comes in continuation of WWE’s trend of hosting international pay-per-view events aired during afternoons to cater to a universal audience.
An interesting development pertains to the possibility of Netflix playing a significant part in these live broadcasts. While it is yet to be officially confirmed, rumours indicate that WWE is considering partnering with Netflix for live afternoon broadcasts, given the streaming giant’s interest in the idea.
An inside source is quoted saying, “WWE did make some big news internationally this week, as they announced a three-week tour of the United Kingdom, directly in the middle of WrestleMania season, with six of those shows being TV episodes of both Raw and SmackDown. We are told that, after speaking with Netflix sources, that Netflix is absolutely open to the idea of broadcasting those Raw shows live as they happen. Essentially, we could be looking at some Monday afternoon Raw right in the middle of WrestleMania season. We’re told that WWE is considering the idea, no decision, one way or the other, but Netflix is on board for doing those shows live as they happen.”
However, Friday Night SmackDown broadcasts for the USA Network are set to continue in their current form, with a tape delay, and are not expected to see any significant changes in established broadcast parameters.
