Reports have surfaced detailing the two teams set to majorly participate in the forthcoming NJPW World Tag League 2024, which is due to kick off on November 19.
As reported by Tokyo Sports, the tournament will see Tetsuya Naito pairing with Hiromu Takahashi, while Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jado will combine their skills as another team.
Interestingly, it was not long ago when Hiromu was partnered with BUSHI during the Super Junior Tag League and maintained a record of 2 wins and 3 losses.
Sharing his thoughts, Naito said, “Observing the league matches closely, I firmly believed that the BUSHI-Hiromu team had the most captivating presence and lived up to the fans’ high expectations. Despite finding it annoying, I always found myself drawn to Takahashi Hiromu. But no, we’re not seeking revenge for SJTL. I suggest that Hiromu and I challenge the World Tag League together as a team that crosses weight classes.”
The victors of the World Tag League will be rewarded with a chance at the World Tag Team Title at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.
Over the weekend, Davey Boy Smith Jr. had a major victory in AJPW, winning the coveted position of the Triple Crown Champion at the 2024 Giant Series.
By pinning down Yuma Aoyagi, Smith Jr. acquired the title and now finds his name alongside renowned wrestlers like Vader, Dr. Death Steve Williams, Terry Gordy and the like, all of whom have held the title of the Triple Crown Champion.
Smith Jr.’s association with AJPW began in late 2023.
Natalya, a WWE Superstar, expressed her happiness over Smith Jr.’s win on Twitter. Her message read,
