The wrestling persona known as “The Godfather” recently revealed that it was Shane McMahon who conceived the concept for his “Ho Train” persona.
During his latest appearance on his podcast “Poddin Ain’t Easy”, the wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer talked about this, shared some favorite memories involving Shane McMahon, and more.
Highlights from the podcast include:
About how the Ho Train concept developed: “In fact, it was Shane McMahon who thought of Ho Train. We were in the ring fooling around one day, and he suggested ‘Imagine when you Splash – I’ve always appreciated your splash in the corner. It looks great. So, before you execute the splash, let’s introduce a reference to Soul Train. We will name it the Ho Train.’ I recall him advising me to have a solid wind up before rushing in to deliver the Splash. That’s how we ended up with the Ho Train.”
His favorite memory of Shane: “Me and ‘Taker used to visit strip clubs frequently and Vince was keen on us avoiding any DUIs. Therefore, Shane took up the responsibility of driving me and ‘Taker. In most of our stories, Shane was not even 21, yet he spent significant time with me and Mark. Can’t share a lot of those stories but trust me, we’ve had heaps of good times. I believe Kevin Nash’s description of Shane as ‘The coolest rich motherf**ker I know,’ sums him up pretty accurately.”
Wrestler Zilla Fatu credited Shelton Benjamin for many valuable learnings.
In a recent episode of “MuscleManMalcolm,” Zilla appreciated Shelton Benjamin, asserting that he deserves greater recognition in the wrestling industry.
“Shelton emphasizes a lot on health. He makes sure that I stay fit and avoid reckless stunts. Not only does he give me ring-side advices but also helps me make better decisions out of the ring. He’s been a constant mentor, friend and ally to me, which feels like a privilege.”
He professed further, “I genuinely believe that Shelton Benjamin deserves a massive round of applause. Alright? Because not only is he deserving of it, he has truly earned it and to this day, he is putting up commendable performances, like the recent one against Lio Rush. Apologies to Lio Rush, but he did receive a tough beating. I have immense respect and love for Shelton.”
