On the “Youngstown Studio” podcast, AEW’s Jon Moxley expressed optimism about the company’s future, citing the current period as the most exhilarating in its history. Below are few highlights from Moxley’s podcast appearance:
When asked about AEW’s recent TV deal, Moxley shared, “We have a new television deal, and will be streaming on HBO Max soon. This will definitely present new opportunities. The world of Pro Wrestling is always growing and evolving. If we don’t adapt and keep learning, it can leave us behind. There are people in the business who are lagging so far behind that they’ll never catch up. I prefer to be a front runner, taking chances.”
Speaking about the future of AEW, he stated, “I can’t recall any period as thrilling as this. The future is a blank slate. We can shape it however we want.”
In another recent interview with Video Games Chronicle, Yuke’s Studio Producer Takashi Takezawa discussed his experience of developing ‘AEW: Fight Forever’ and working with Kenny Omega. Here are highlights from Takezawa’s interview:
Reflecting upon Fight Forever’s success, Takezawa stated, “Even though I can’t comment on the sales or the upcoming content, I must confess that I’m extremely proud of how the game has turned out. Released a year ago, the amount of positive and constructive feedback we’ve received from the fans has been overwhelming. The fan’s feedback helps us understand areas that need improvement.”
When asked about developing a game for WWE annually, Takezawa said, “For 20 years we worked on the WWE franchise, so we’ve got quite used to building new games every year. Although, the games weren’t developed in just one year. Among the notable differences with developing AEW: Fight Forever was having a direct working relationship with AEW and Kenny Omega, outside the typical developer-publisher interaction.”
Takezawa also shared his experience of working with Kenny Omega, he reminisced, “Our collaboration was quite insightful. In one instance, Kenny Omega joined us after a live wrestling show and shared his keen feedback on the animations in the game. He even demonstrated some moves using another wrestler. His intense involvement was quite memorable.”
