Bobby Lashley Comments On His Time In The Hurt Business, Shelton Benjamin Talks Lashley In AEW

In a recent online autograph session with K&S WrestleFest, ex-WWE Wrestling star Bobby Lashley reflected on his stint with The Hurt Business in WWE, labelling it the “most enjoyable” chapter of his professional wrestling journey.

A few noteworthy excerpts from the online event are summarised below:

Regarding his experience with The Hurt Business: “That was my most engaging period. The Hurt Business was exciting, particularly as MVP was not within WWE during that time. Prior to that, I was brainstorming about a character that would combine elements of Suge Knight, Don King, and The Rock in (Ballers). The outcome I envisioned was a character that managed people while also exhibiting toughness and a readiness to brawl. When MVP showed up at The Rumble, I instantly recognised that he was the personification of the character I had envisaged.”

On wishing to integrate the name into wrestling: “In the boxing world, my coach sported a shirt labelled ‘Hurt Business’. I thought the title was awesome and envisaged implementing it when I ventured back into wrestling as ‘The Hurt Business’. I eventually discussed my ideas to Shelton and we began to brainstorm on it. I reached out to my boxing coach and sought his blessing for using the ‘Hurt Business’ brand in the world of professional wrestling. He readily agreed and in respect, I sent him one of our branded t-shirts.”

In related news, Shelton Benjamin, in a recent interview with TV Insider, discussed the potential consequences of Bobby Lashley joining All Elite Wrestling. He said,

“Should this eventuality materialise, it will invariably mean another tough competitor is in the midst. Depending on his plans, he could pose a significant challenge for everyone. There has been a lot of hearsay and rumour mill churning, but for the moment, my focus is on my Wednesday’s match against Swerve rather than these speculations.”

He further stated, “If a new recruit arrives, he could definitely elevate the company’s brand value. However, as of now, my priority is my Wednesday’s showdown.”
