A few weeks ago, Oba Femi took on Tony D’Angelo in a WWE NXT North American Title match. The two further clashed at the NXT Halloween Havoc 2024, wherein Femi was once again defeated by D’Angelo.
Come Monday, there were whispers hinting at Femi bidding his goodbye to NXT backstage post the Halloween Havoc 2024 event.
According to Fightful, there exists a substantial amount of “doubt concerning the potential shift of Oba Femi to the main WWE roster.”
Dialogues with several insiders, including those from production staff and talent pool, implied no evidence to suggest Femi bidding adieu after the NXT Halloween Havoc. Those inquired were of the opinion that Femi will remain an integral part of NXT in the foreseeable future.
The information further indicates that Femi is looked at as a potential future WWE Champion/holder. Those within the NXT circles are under the belief that Femi might be the upcoming challenger for the NXT Championship, getting the baton from Trick Williams. However, these assumptions remain purely speculative at this point.
It’s important to mention that an NXT performer’s departure from the brand usually doesn’t remain hidden. WWE has been known to publicize such incidents through social media clips, much like when Bron Breakker received his call-up.
