Cody Rhodes Wants Conor McGregor In WWE, Matt Cardona Takes Aim At The Rock

In a recent episode of “The Schmo” podcast, Cody Rhodes, the Uncontested WWE Universal Champion, expressed his interest in seeing ex-UFC Champion Conor McGregor enter the realm of WWE.

Rhodes stated, “One I’d love to see dip his toes into the water with WWE would be Conor (McGregor). Just to dip his toes. The competition environment at WWE, the competition is different than what you might think. It’s so much about who has the most discipline, who is the most professional, getting there to the finish line, getting there to a WrestleMania. I feel like someone who has competed at the highest level like he has and so many amazing fights, it’s time to maybe dip into the more entertainment side of sports entertainment. I think he’d be great at it, I do.”

Matt Cardona, on his social media account today, posted a video. He talked about enhancing his promotional skills and the adjustment process of communication after his transition from WWE to the independent circuit.

Cardona stated, “I always cut a promo before my matches on the indies. When I was in WWE, I could probably count on one, two hands how many times I had a real promo. You know, for someone like me, you pretty much had to get everything on the script right, and I knew when I became Matt Cardona I had to work on talking. Being a heel, it’s so much easier to just grab the mic and get a promo, and these promoters aren’t going to f***ing yell at me. I always come out first, and I always cut a promo. Sometimes it’s great, and sometimes it’s not so great. Sometimes it sucks, but that’s how you learn, that’s how you grow, and now, this is gonna sound ridiculous, but if I was on RAW Monday and had to go face to face with The Rock, I would be confident. I’m not saying I’d be as good as The Rock. That’s not what I’m saying, but I wouldn’t be nervous.”
