WWE’s Liv Morgan has twice held the distinction of becoming a singles champion. However, her first victory with the coveted gold pales in comparison to her present accomplishment as the Women’s World Champion.
The SmackDown Women’s Championship fell in her lap in 2022, when she cashed her Money in the Bank contract against the then-title holder, Ronda Rousey.
Fast forward to the present year, Morgan achieved a pivotal point in her career by winning the Women’s World Championship during King and Queen of the Ring, besting Becky Lynch.
Morgan recently appeared on the “Insight” podcast to provide her thoughts on both title victories. In her own words,
“They don’t even compare. Winning the SmackDown title was surreal, it was like peaking my dream of joining WWE and becoming a champion, earning Money in the Bank, defeating Ronda Rousey, and then clinching my initial title. It was unimaginable, I was awestruck. I remember standing on that turnbuckle, my title in my hand, just looking into the crowd, trying to etch everything about that moment and the feeling into my memory, because it was simply unbelievable.
“But the sensation of winning recently was different. It wasn’t a ‘I can’t believe this!’ moment but more of a triumphant ‘Yes, I’ve won this!’ kind of feeling. Also, I had newfound confidence. My response was one of gratitude, saying, ‘Wow’, I just couldn’t grasp the fact that I had accomplished this, and knowing I was deserving of it. My sentiments about it were, in essence, different.”
This weekend, Morgan is gearing up for a match against Nia Jax at WWE Crown Jewel. The winner will etch their name in history as the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Women’s Champion.
