Samantha Irvin, a former WWE announcer, openly admitted her discontent towards her job as an announcer. Last Monday was her last day at WWE and following her departure, a fan pointed fingers at WWE superstar, Ricochet.
Having joined WWE in 2021, Irvin made her reputation as the primary announcer on RAW. The controversy was sparked when a fan accused Ricochet of being involved in her exit saying, “I don’t have evidence, but I am convinced Ricochet had a hand in this because he was unable to maintain his position in the main league.”
Irvin responded candidly to the fan’s claim with her true feelings about her previous role at WWE, saying, “The truth is, I did not enjoy announcing. I mean it! My role as an announcer was nothing more than an entry into the industry. My aim was to manage or even become a general manager someday. But, unfortunately, WWE foresaw no other position for me apart from an announcer. I relish the action of WWE, but I don’t enjoy being the story teller. I have immense respect and love for WWE, and I’m proud to have been a part of it. Regardless, Ricochet’s place in the top league was entirely WWE’s decision. It bewilders me that people feel he was always in an ideal position at WWE.”
The former WWE announcer also made a recent statement detailing her dislike for announcing and expressing her relief about leaving a job she was not fond of. She also expressed her desire to pursue other roles within WWE which unfortunately didn’t pan out as the organization couldn’t see her performing any other role than announcing matches.
On another note, during “The Happy Hour” podcast, Trick Williams shared some exciting news about the creation of his theme song, inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Family Ties’. He narrated, “At the PC in Orlando, against Ilja Dragunov (match two), I got the theme altered. I bagged the instrumental variation and suggested them to base the beat on a Kendrick Lamar track titled ‘Family Ties.’ They came back with the instrumental melody, and it was pure magic. My first match outside of Orlando was at No Mercy in California, and that’s when it hit me – we are indeed global. People are genuinely infatuated with the ‘Whoop That Trick’ movement. Since that epiphany, it has skyrocketed.”
