Wheeler Yuta, the AEW wrestler, in a recent guest spot on “The Mark Hoke Show” talked about the company’s objectives. He highlighted the push to inject more passion into the firm as it gears up for its sixth year. Yuta expressed:
“Just as we said, it’s about relighting that passion, rekindling that fire. I think most guys on the team possess that, but we’re on an organizational mission to nurture a culture that inspires giving your best every single night. We’ve been doing it to the greatest possible extent, but we need to continue strengthening this culture of unity and collective effort. That’s an area we’ve been working on, but there’s always room for improvement. Hopefully, we can continue promoting this.”
In addition to Yuta’s interview, Brody King from House of Black also offered his thoughts on AEW’s new television deal with Warner Bros. Discovery during his appearance on the “WrestleMobs” podcast. Below are some highlights from their conversation.
Regarding AEW’s new TV contract, King said: “It’s very reassuring. It’s fantastic because, like you mentioned, for the first three-quarters of this year, people were speculating that ‘AEW’s going to tank,’ ‘you’re not getting a TV contract,’ and so on. Even with facts contradicting these rumors, it was challenging to avoid those comments. So when our TV deal became a reality, it felt like ‘There you go.'”
On the topic of TV viewership ratings, King shared: “I don’t own cable TV, and neither do most of my friends. However, they’ve all mentioned that it’s going to be much more convenient to watch our shows now. I can’t say how that might affect ratings or such, but it’s clear that ratings are not the ultimate determinant of success.”
