In a remarkable turn of events, Chris Jericho, formerly known as The Ocho, earns the title of The Nueve by claiming the ROH World Championship at the AEW Dynamite edition on October 23, 2024.
Mark Briscoe, a champion in his own right with numerous Ladder War victories across several companies fell prey to the power of numbers. He was massively disadvantaged as Bryan Keith “The Bad Apple” and “The Redwood” Big Bill from The Learning Tree played a key role in Jericho’s triumph and championship win.
Jericho’s previous stint as the ROH World Champion was from September 21, 2022, to December 10, 2022, when he dethroned and was subsequently defeated by Claudio Castagnoli at the Grand Slam and Final Battle respectively.
Following his victorious moment, Jericho was confronted by Tomohiro Ishii, hinting at a potential challenge to his newly seized championship title.
