On a recent episode of “Busted Open Radio,” Mark Henry shared his thoughts on Shelton Benjamin’s first ever AEW in-ring performance on Dynamite last week.
Benjamin, a newbie in AEW, notably overcame Lio Rush to mark his impactful entry.
Henry took a moment to commend Benjamin saying, “[It’s] exactly what I always expected from Shelton. Just be yourself. He’s like a beast. I remember when Shelton had me defeated. He overpowered and handcuffed me, a triumph unheard of in my career. Despite being over 40, Shelton has the energy of a youngster. His diet may include filling up on Ho-Hos, Ding-Dongs and Snickers, though he still stands tall amongst us,” stated Henry. “If he decides to choke the life out of you, [it’s impossible for you to resist him. When he’s in that mode, beware, he’s not the kind of guy you’d want to mess with.”
AWA fans, stay tuned as Benjamin will lock horns with Sammy Guevara in an upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.
On a similar note, during a recent stint on the “Battleground” podcast, Mark Briscoe threw light on his much-anticipated bout with Chris Jericho, scheduled for the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. The duo is lined up to face off in a Ladder War for the esteemed ROH World Title.
Expressing his displeasure with Jericho, Briscoe warned, “Enough is enough. It’s high time this ends. Jericho, I think he considers himself to have some sort of immunity to say or do as he pleases. Do you have a death wish? Your fate is in my hands,” warned Mark. “Regardless of his lack of restraint, or conversely, his deliberate decisions, I’ve asked him repeatedly to stop mentioning my brother. Disobey and run the risk of serious injury. Are you prepared for your career’s end? You’ve enjoyed a witty and sarcastic persona throughout your career and it worked in other scenarios, but it’s not going to work against me. If there are people out there expecting to witness Chris Jericho’s fall, I might be the one to facilitate it. Jericho has had an impressive career, a fact I do not dispute. But his career might meet its end soon as I am not going to take it lightly.”
