There are rumblings within WWE that players Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio may soon face off in one-on-one play, according to recent reports.
Drawing from a recent “WrestleVotes Q&A” session, it was declared that there’s a growing interest amongst WWE’s creative team to arrange this match-up.
“The idea has definitely been tossed around, but I can’t say if it’s ascended to the top ranks yet. However, some level of the creative team certainly hopes to stage this match before its relevance fades.”
Ripley and Mysterio allied in 2022, sparked by Dominik’s betrayal of his father and Edge during the premiere WWE Clash At The Castle pay-per-view event.
The 2024 WWE SummerSlam saw Mysterio further assert his independence by leaving Ripley high and dry and abetting Liv Morgan’s victory of the Women’s World title against Ripley, the Australian contender.
Having clawed back to victory against Morgan and Mysterio, Ripley and Damian Priest at WWE Bash In Berlin, one-on-one combat between Ripley and Dominik remains as yet untested.
WWE’s approach to intergender wrestling is generally more reserved compared to smaller entities, but it has also seen its share of mixed-gender matches.
