Wrestling legend, Rob Van Dam, recently made public that he officially sealed his Legends deal with WWE several years ago, after his appearance on the premiere of SmackDown on the USA Network.
Van Dam and his wife, Katie Forbes, captured the attention of viewers during the show. Van Dam went on to reveal that he had entered into a legends contract with the coveted wrestling promotion.
In a recent installment of his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, Van Dam shed light on the timeline of his WWE deal, saying that although the news about his contract just broke, he had actually been signed with the organisation years prior.
He divulged, “Yeah, I saw today that it’s news, people are congratulating me and stuff. Okay, I just liked a comment anyway. It’s what I do. They think I’m confirming something whenever I like it, but I try to like all the comments. But yeah, a lot of congratulations, and then I did mention on that one, yeah, it is true, in 2021 I participated in a legends deal.”
Interestingly enough, his signing into the contract in 2021 didn’t stop Van Dam from making an appearance in AEW. His most recent stint was seen on the 4/20 episode of Rampage that aired this year.
Expounding further on the details of the WWE’s Legends arrangement, Van Dam mentioned it incorporated a “flexible template” to provide individualized deals that were in sync with each signee’s preferences.
