Veteran AEW commentator, Jim Ross, recently provided an update on his health status following his surgery for cancer on his right hip earlier this year.
In a recent episode of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross shared insights on how he’s recovering, stating,
“I feel better. I feel better about traveling; I’m not so hesitant about traveling right now because I’m feeling good. My hip still bothers me, I wonder how long a goddamn hip replacement takes to heal, but it hasn’t happened for me yet. But it’s getting better, so I’m doing all I can to keep my presence out there and enjoy going out there and meeting with the fans. It’s great, it’s invigorating, and it makes me feel young.”
Ross has been a crucial part of AEW since his association with the company in 2019. Known for his electrifying commentary, he’s played a pivotal role across several milestone matches and is a constant presence in pay-per-view events.
Ross also discussed his experiences with fans during the podcast. He recounted how fans often refer to him as the voice of their childhood, to which he said:
“I used to be leery of that and hesitant to engage because my ego told me it made me look old. I don’t give a st anymore. I’m blessed that it’s happening.”
As of now, Ross continues his journey to recovery while maintaining a steady presence in the AEW midst.
