Fightful Select has recently announced that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has extended several contracts of AEW referees that were initially signed for a one-year period. Reportedly, some of these referees were midway through their contracts.
The identities of the renewed referees have not been disclosed, although it has been indicated that there are “at least a few.” Some referees also had their contracts expire before they were renewed. It is believed these referees are likely to be offered more extensive contracts moving forward.
AEW has faced criticism recently for some actions, such as referees adjusting wrestlers’ shoulders on the mat. The exact reasons for this action are still unclear, but it’s hypothesized that such actions might not persist.
