On Thursday, it was revealed that Rhino and the late Bob Ryder are set to be posthumously honored with an induction into the TNA Hall of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled to take place over the Bound For Glory 2024 weekend.
Veteran wrestling star Matt Hardy shared his thoughts on the upcoming inductees during his latest episode of the “Extreme Life” podcast.
He expressed, “Rhino is a wonderful selection, particularly because of his deep Detroit roots. He cherishes his life there and prides himself on being a Detroiter through and through. As for Bob Ryder, I believe the current state of TNA would be drastically different if not for him. Ryder played a pivotal role in the foundation of TNA, its success, and its continued existence over the years. I’m pleased to see both being honored. It’s common knowledge amongst us that there was a considerable push for Monty Brown to be a contender too, but sadly they had difficulty contacting him. He seems to have distanced himself from the spotlight, but despite that, considering the event is in Detroit, he would have made a fantastic candidate.”
Matt also divulged some details about his imminent Three-way Full Metal Mayhem Match at TNA Bound for Glory 2024. The match will pit The Hardys against The System and ABC for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.
He went on to say, “It’s highly possible that this might be the final TLC/Full Metal Mayhem match that our aging bodies can handle. As you grow older and continue your career, it’s hard not to think about how much wrestling you have left in you, especially when you realize the road behind you is much longer than what lies ahead. It’s something that crosses our minds, how many more matches like these do we have in us? This could very well be our final true Full Metal Man match. We’re determined to give it everything we’ve got. Jeff is an absolute beast when it comes to training and so am I. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of this last run at TNA to us, especially now that we stand a chance to establish our legacy as one of the best tag teams in history as TNA World Tag Team Champions. It really means the world to both of us.”
