This role primarily entails the production and development of original content for two of WWE’s longest-standing weekly episodic television shows: Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. The creative team’s main objective is to curate captivating narratives featuring larger-than-life, diverse, and charismatic characters, both on and off-screen.
Key duties for the successful candidate include:
• Crafting well-defined characters for various WWE talents.
• Scripting creative and engaging storylines for RAW, SmackDown, and specific programming for the WWE Network.
• Collaborating with other creative minds to develop stories that will captivate our global audience.
• Ensuring script continuity and flow across all episodes.
• Incorporating social media insights and video analytics with each Talent’s unique skillset and background to create impactful storylines synonymous with the WWE brand.
• Traveling weekly to RAW or Smackdown shows and rotating travel plans for Premium Live Events (PLEs).
• Participating actively in creative scriptwriting team meetings every week at our Stamford, Connecticut HQ.
Skills required include:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in writing for TV or Film.
• Directing and producing experience is a distinct advantage.
• Former work experience in a TV or Film professional staff setting is preferred.
• Live TV production experience is beneficial.
• Prior experience working with On-Screen Talent, Creative Writers, and Producers is necessary.
• Understanding of WWE’s demographic and psychographic audience is preferable.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Film, TV, Drama, Media Studies, Communications or a similar field is preferred.
