This week, fans of AEW (All Elite Wrestling) were treated to another thrilling episode of Dynamite, but one expected match did not occur.

Rumors about an AEW International Title match featuring Konosuke Takeshita against Mascara Dorada started swirling when a deceptive graphic began making rounds on the internet, hinting that the event would take place during Wednesday’s show.

Before the Dynamite episode commenced, according to Luchablog, Dorada still hadn’t acquired a work visa for the U.S.

Wrestling Observer Radio’s latest episode featured a report from Dave Meltzer, stating that AEW is considering planning this fight for a later date, now that the company is aware of the circulating hoax graphic.

Meltzer said during the show, “I saw on social media this thing that said Takeshita was wrestling Mascara Dorada on Dynamite tonight.”

Bryan Alvarez, another commentator, chimed in, “It was a fake graphic.”

Meltzer then added, “It was a fake graphic, yet it fooled me since it perfectly mimicked their usual graphics. I thought, ‘Wow, they’re announcing this match at the last minute.’ So, I went to the show in anticipation, but it never took place. I assumed some issue had come up with Mascara Dorada, but then I found out it was a fake graphic. Still, what a fantastic match that would have been. The team backstage love the idea of that match as well. However, it may not happen in the near future, and currently, Mascara Dorada is not working for AEW. Despite this, they would love to have him. I was at the show waiting for that match to happen.”
