Professional wrestlers Katie Forbes and Rob Van Dam revealed their latest venture: a fan-based platform dubbed Only Wrestlers. Below is the first-hand announcement:
KATIE FORBES AND ROB VAN DAM UNLEASH “ONLY WRESTLERS” – A REVOLUTIONARY PLATFORM FOR WRESTLING FANS AND PERFORMERS
Leading the charge in a revolutionary change in the wrestling sphere, Katie Forbes, acclaimed wrestler and entrepreneur, has joined hands with WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam to bring to life Only Wrestlers. This is a fresh, subscription-oriented platform crafted uniquely for wrestling performers and their followers. This novel initiative lets wrestlers independently regulate their subscription fees, share diverse content, and directly engage with their fans.
“Everyone’s familiar with OnlyFans, hence Rob Van Dam and I ideated a website called Only Wrestlers, operating on a very similar concept,” claimed Forbes. “Wrestlers have the liberty to post any content, and fans get to interact with us. We’re thrilled to craft a platform that facilitates genuine interactions between fans and wrestlers.”
As the platform advances, Forbes foresees it becoming the Only Wrestlers Association, where fans could voluntarily vote on different elements of the wrestling institution, such as match pairings, championship designs, and even the host cities.
“Our aim is for this to be beneficial for every participant,” described Forbes. “Wrestlers get to earn on Only Wrestlers, and fans have the opportunity to make money through referrals. If a fan brings in a new subscriber, they earn 5% of what the new subscriber spends for a year. This is a community-led approach providing benefits to all.”
Only Wrestlers will foster financial growth not just for wrestlers, but also their fans through a referral program. “Even creators can refer other creators, earning 5% of what the referred creators make,” added Forbes. “It’s an eco-system envisaged to uplift wrestlers and fans concurrently.”
The idea took off when Forbes encountered boxing icon Mike Tyson at cannabis industry events. “Rob was leading his CBD company, and our connections in the fight and the cannabis industry led us to ideate business strategies,” Forbes described. “I’m also thrilled to be part of Mike Tyson’s Hot Box Boxing that aligns perfectly with my association with the fight community.”
Currently, Forbes holds the UWW championship title, which she recently clinched against Layla Gray. “We poured all our energy into launching Only Wrestlers while taking a respite from UWW,” she expressed. “But we aim to reintroduce OWA, including male and female wrestlers, to be more inclusive.”
Ever-excited about her fresh initiative, Forbes is keen to re-enter wrestling with TNA and other promotions. “I would love to manage Rob again; the experience was exhilarating! Excited to show the world my single matches and management capability,” she asserted. “I’m ardent to wrestle in TNA and other promotions again. I’m prepared for these opportunities!”
With an escalating presence in the wrestling community, Forbes is optimistic about her future. “People recognize me widely now. If they need me, they know how to reach me,” she concluded.
