Konnan on Jack Perry: “There’s something captivating about Perry that clearly has Tony investing in him. Tony is committed to making him shine, partially because he’s a talent Tony himself discovered. They’ve put considerable effort in building Perry’s wrestling persona. Still, in my view, it’s painfully evident that something is missing. The disparity is as stark as the conspicuous bread truck labeled ‘Scapegoat’ that Perry happens to drive.”
Konnan’s take on Perry’s area of improvement: “I must admit, once Perry started growing that beard, it permanently erased traces of his boyish looks. The same could be said for [Wheeler] Yuta, who managed to shake off his teenage persona with the help of some facial hair. Additionally, Perry’s promo abilities have improved over time, but there still seems to be something he’s lacking. Considering all the effort AEW has invested in him, it’s disappointing to see that something is still not quite right.”
