On the 8th of October, legal representatives for Janel Grant appealed to WWE, requesting a waiver for any present confidential non-disclosure agreements involved in their legal battle against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis. Earlier this year, Grant initiated her lawsuit, leveling charges of sex trafficking and sexual assault against McMahon.
Recently, Kendra Barkoff Lamy, a representative for Grant, was a guest on the “Going Ringside” podcast. She was questioned about the possibility of the past alliance between the former WWE Chairman and convicted criminal Donald Trump becoming a potential concern if Trump secures a victory in the 2024 election. Lamy commented,
“There is no politics at play here. This is a straight case where a woman was human trafficked. That is exactly what this is. I have worked with a lot of survivors over the years. I’ve represented Harvey Weinstein actresses, I’ve represented (Jeffrey) Epstein survivors. This is sort of what I do. There are no politics at play. This is exactly what it is, which is human trafficking.”
When queried on the likelihood of the previous President pardoning McMahon if he makes it back into office, Lamy responded as follows:
“I think that, hopefully, the facts will be followed and that the law will be followed, and that he will be held accountable.”
